The Sustainable Farming Investment Scheme (SFIS) is now open in Northern Ireland, providing grant support for eligible farm equipment and technology, including Low Emission Slurry Spreading Equipment (LESSE).

For Round 1, eligible farm businesses can receive:

• 40% grant support

• Up to £25,000 per farm business

• Eligible investments from £3,000 to £62,500

• Applications close at 11:59pm on 3 September 2026

  Round 1 opened on 21 July 2026 and is part of a wider programme that DAERA plans to roll out over several rounds during the next three to four years
